Parks plans on display

Plans for a revitalised Wallsend Parks go on display in the town's library from next week.
 
Wallsend Parks, which consists of Richardson Dees Park, Civic Hall Grounds and Prince Road Arboretum, is set for a major regeneration starting in Spring 2010.
 
North Tyneside Council was awarded £165,000 by the Heritage Lottery Fund to develop final specifications for Wallsend Parks' revitalisation.
 
Now outline plans and sketch designs are going on display in Wallsend library, Ferndale Avenue, from Monday 10 August to Friday 14 August.
 
In October the proposals will be submitted to the Heritage Lottery Fund in the second phase of the bid for a further £2.5million of funding.

North Tyneside Council is planning to regenerate the borough's four main parks - Northumberland Park, Wallsend Parks, Killingworth Lake Park and Churchill Playing Fields incorporating Souter Park.
