Refuse collection and recycling arrangements

North Tyneside Council has announced its refuse collection and recycling arrangements for Christmas and New Year.

Collections of refuse and grey recycling wheeled bins will be as normal except on Christmas Day, Friday 25 December, and New Year's Day, Friday 1 January.

The collection on Friday 25 December will take place on Sunday 27 December and the collection on Friday 1 January will take place on Saturday 2 January.

Meanwhile, from Monday 11 January to Friday 15 January, there are five sites where Christmas trees can be recycled. They are at:

- Brierdene car park (next to the scout hut), Whitley Bay

- Centurion Park Golf Club, Rheydt Avenue, Wallsend

- Foxhunters car park, Shield Road, Whitley Bay

- Household Waste Recycling Centre, Wallsend Road, North Shields

- North Tyneside Council's Killingworth site (Harvey Combe entrance), Station Road.
