Lots in store for shoppers

11-OCT-11

Issued by: Graeme Cook

A model railway display, live jazz music and a retro digital photo booth will be keeping shoppers entertained in North Tyneside's town centres this weekend

On Saturday, October 15, music fans can take a break from shopping and enjoy some live jazz performed by Vieux Carre Jazzmen.

The group will be playing along Bedford Street in North Shields from 12noon until 1pm, and on the bandstand outside the Forum Shopping Centre in Wallsend, between 2pm and 3pm.

Wallsend shoppers should also look out for the Snaparazzi retro digital photo booth.

People can have their photo taken wearing some fun props in return for some great prizes. The event is in association with Metro Radio and people will be able to check out their photos online at www.metroradio.co.uk/snaparazzi.

Snaparazzi will be in the Forum Shopping Centre in Wallsend between 11am and 3pm. The booths will also be appearing across North Tyneside's town centres throughout October.

Meanwhile, the Blyth and District Model Railway Society will be exhibiting at the Park View Shopping Centre in Whitley Bay, between 11am and 3pm.

There will be a large model railway layout for enthusiasts to check out, while representatives from the organisation will be chatting to shoppers and answering any questions they may have.

These events form part of a wide and varied programme of town centre events organised by North Tyneside Council as part of its commitment to support town centre businesses.
