Issued by: Graeme Cook
North Tyneside Council is looking for volunteers to help clean-up a rubbish-filled stream in Seaton Burn.
Helpers will aid the Clean Neighbourhood Patrol Officers, the Environment Agency and the Wildlife Trust in restoring the environmental grot spot.
The clean-up, on Friday 19 June, will take place at Seaton Burn next to Dudley, and will last approximately two hours. Volunteers are asked to meet at 1pm on the bridge at Fern Drive.
It comes after a number of residents complained at the amount of rubbish found in the stream.
Volunteers will be supplied with the relevant equipment, such as litter pickers, and are advised to wear old, suitable clothes for the one-day event.
Children under-16 must be accompanied by an adult.
