03-JUN-09
Issued by: Graeme Cook
North Tyneside Council and Northumberland County Council have teamed up to create a family cycle ride and fun day in aid of the Chris Lucas Trust.
The 9-mile ride will start at 10am on Saturday 20 June. Riders will set-off from the Cobalt Business Park and head towards Blyth Beach along the Waggonways of North Tyneside.
The Chris Lucas Trust looks to improve the quality of life for children and young adults with cancer by funding research and development into new treatments.
It is a great opportunity for people to enjoy some of the recently transformed cycle routes, as well as raising money for a worthy cause.
Participants will be treated to a mountain bike display team and face painting when they arrive in Blyth.
The route starts from the car park opposite the Village Hotel. Entry fee is £5 and all of the money raised will go directly to the charity.
All riders will receive a t- shirt, a goodie pack and fruit.
